Greece debt crisis: Live Coverage - BBC News

Now is the moment for last minute deals.

Why we engage in pederasty

We do it to Absorb change humans,  too much would be too  findable.  It has to be rare,  but not so rare as to  unfindable.  Thus  we would breed   a few   spandrels to pick up few genes.  Since we have other ways of doing this now,  The pederast gene is not necessary,  but was in the past.  current possesses of this gene should not breed,  but it is  not the fault of the possessor -  they need to be trained to not use this gene.  Therefore,  what we need to find these genes,  so that they can be identified.

Classes for

On Sundays from July 12th through August 16th.

DB should read the related texts on relational database management; the role players should think about whether they want a contemporary, 1930s, 1880s, or medieval setting, and why they should want that.

I made under music, a list of currently recording music.  There are a few things missing, perhaps one hour,  but otherwise it is complete.

My Place in the Universe

Is define, as almost  is almost everyone,  defined by my relationship to life the universe and everything,  to quote  a phrase from a dead  comedian.  Part of that relationship is my relationship with my family.  first I had to live my life with my family,  then I needed to write about it.  certain characters from my family are now dead,  and thus can be written about.  it was the Greeks who pointed out that happiness only occurs when one is dead and then can judge your life as a whole.

There are many important figures,  such as the grand mother who was not,  and the not grand mother who was.  There is also one of my uncles who,  while he is dead he hangs on in the world by others whose life is still being lived.  Then there is the youngest of my  uncles,  whose life touched my brother more than me.

Since I am in the documentation phase of my life,  I will be writing more about the characters,  and the particular life story,  which began happy and ended sad.

Then there are friends of various sorts ...

I do not know if this is of interest to many people,  though one does not know if one will be discovered late,  but it is what I have to tell. In a fiction kind of reality.  So it you know me even by a little, you can congratulate yourself on being part of a fictional world; even if only you and I know of your connection.

Its time

to write a story on equal marriage.

3 classes - 2 of Relational DB and 1 Roleplay

1. 1.5 RDM at 11
2. 2 Roleplay at 1
3. 1.5 RDM at 3:30

 all on Sunday at MIT.

Now do Islamic ...

... worshipers  get four wives?  Some Christians may want that to disrupt same sex.  But there are other problems,  such as things that make it difficult to  marry  non- US citizens.  Yes, multiple wives is out there,  but it is not time for it yet.  Most of all because there is no verifiable system to reach back in to.  Thus  what needs to happen is a discussion of those within the group as to what they want done.

Same Sex Legal in 50 States

Now the next topic is removing barriers barriers that event US citizens from  marrying non-US citizens.  You did not think this would be over did you?

The Confederate flag is meant to represent states rights

Most particularly the right to keep slaves.  When southern states begin to have blacks and whites equal in terms of other measures,  then the Confederate flag will have  other meanings that people who are not part of the South will recognize. I say this as someone named "Sterling"  when the name in Scotland was "Stirling",  and my family changed it to remind people of the Confederate general.  I am only one generation removed from Missouri.  Get rid of the slave owner,  and  Confederate flags will have meaning. Because there actually are states rights which do not   derive  meaning from our peculiar institution.  But that time is not now.

We who are sons and daughters of the South can change this.

( and I do not mean St. Louis as part of the Confederacy,  I mean Drury College. "40 acres of Christian atmosphere, and 1 acre of parking across the way.")

Attack on Tunisia Hotel kills 37

Tunisia hotel attacks kill at least 27, mostly tourists

Nothing to see here,  just risk taking tourists getting shot up.

The Islamic fundamentalists know that they have to kill a number of people so that the Western ( Read US)  will drop bombs on people not responsible for the carnage.  All of the people who did this have been cleared out by the time the bombers get in.  Oh and do you note how drones are not fashionable anymore?  There is a reason for this. Win for  the Islamic fundamentalists,  and the war machine.   Tourists and civilians,  they could do better shoveling rocks.

Comment on Ian's Blog

Except it is not that easy… Because there are other forces applying to both the acceptable wages and the reason for introducing outside labor competition. We can see both of these in the Uber debacle.
First of all let us take the acceptable wages. We do not really like to think about this, but it is rather important: the ability of the state to organize a draft. It is not without reason that conservative economists wanted a volunteer army. This made it so that one of the largest pressures on the availability of young men – the people doing the dying – was suddenly not involved. When enough pressures were taken away, the conservative economist then said that there was no reason to bend to the will of the “leaderless thugs”. in other words, you would think that I would be all in favor of the Uber idea except…
There is the second prong of the union argument: the management does not take any responsibility for the labor that they are supplying. Basically, the willing participant, is set up to fail. This is an a normal ride, but the cheapest ride available, which is to say, awful. The problem here is that yes there are available good rides that are really cheap – very very occasionally – the rest of the time they are out numbered by supply being the greater then demand. For example getting to the airport. The chances are that there is no way your going to get a ride unless you work for it very hard, and for a long time. Which is to say, a person who primes their mobile rides will get every time a ride, and everybody else has to pay dearly. And how dearly is seen in the violence. Violence remember is the acceptable road when one person in the supply is basically not going to be in the supply except rarely, but there are enough people who will be passing through. there is a market for “Can you take me, it is just out of your way” but that is not the market that Uber is tapping. These are not nice people offering other nice people rides – the right sharing is below that which anyone would want to participate in, which you can see by who is offering rides: just check the person behind the meter.
In other words, there is a supply and demand feature which we cannot ordinarily get aligned with the demand mechanism which is available. Uber does not do anything to solve this problem, it merely wants to curtail any sort of violence on the professional wage earner. Which is not acceptable – because the person paying for the violence is the person who wants to get to where there going – not the management. the management basically sticks up a sign. the reality of this market is that if the management were in the position of supply, and it could tap into the ” you are going where I am going” market, Uber would be wonderful. but that is in no way what over is doing.
There is a market out there to be tapped, and Uber is doing nothing about it. Nor are they set up to do anything about it. is an excellent starting point for someone to look into the high cost of low wages, in this case Costco vs. Sam’s Club.

No way that

Greece can do it. Germany has found the right mixture of sadism, and no will bail them out. When Putin has them, he may deal.

Why is it...

that people in television land USA Drive like real people in the 2000s  in China?  for example have you ever seen a car flipped over because it drove into another car in the US?  it happens about once a week in China in that time,  though it is better now.

Far Sea

I may get to one called "Power"  and one called "Responsibility" in due course.

“ I know it is creeping on to late spring. Everything cries to having your body outside, rather than inside in this institution, even though name is lauded by everyone. But here in this room, you would rather sacrifice some of the glimmer of glamour – to be outside in the waning minutes of day. I who have seen more of these minutes, however, would like to take a few of those minutes – though I know that most of you will only barely forgive me – to tell you a story about a young man – younger then some of you here – trying to find out why what should happen in Washington, does not seem to get done. In my early years, before I had these wrinkles in my face – though I know most of you will not say that there anything but distinguished – and I was supping, oh that English word, with an young friend of mine who died recently from what could delicately be called one of the viruses which you would mention in old company.”

“We had settled down and were talking – much the way I am talking to you, though your not talking to me – and he was telling me about a story that he heard drop out of the mouth of his Member – with a capital 'M' – before the M had departed for a quick vacation on the islands. He was not doing this to make a fuss mind you, it was just a story out of many others, that went back and forth between us. Since we did not really have stories to tell, most of them were of this kind of second hand knowledge, which I am giving to you thirdhand. In a few cases, you will relate them and sooner or later they will become folk wisdom, from a time where you will know something about, but your audience will not. Believe me when I say you will have wrapped attention, by people who will not do more then see anybody who has any sort of capital letter - other than Doctor or PhD – attached to some gobbledygook of letters. And yes, by saying gobbledygook, you are placing this story in a particular time.”

“So listen closely, because you will have some notion – and your predecessors will at least have a name, a name which will just barely have a residence to your descendents. And trust me they will eat up every word, as meticulously as they would eat up words by Schlesinger – whose hem I touched - or the name of the author which escapes me – you know the one, he first came to prominence with the Best and the Brightest, and then with the Powers That Be. He is a figure noted in passing in this story as well. What is it – oh yes, Halberstam. Thank you. Which reminds me, always look for the number of months that the author has on the New York Times bestseller list, and if the number is less than three, discounted as something that the publisher went out and bought. Because it is bought, and if you know the ins-and-outs of publishing, you know the current list that will do this for you.”

“Ah, for the days when closeted gay actors pretended to be straight, as opposed to openly heterosexual men clamoring to play a gay couple. Think about how fast that went through – from one minute where the actor on Fraser's Keeping mum and Sulu swearing he was straight – to at least one of the actors on a hip television show being straight in real life, but playing different on TV.”

It was an early evening in August, and Washington DC was, as some people call it, “in recess”, that time when any one who is important makes their absence known to people who are unimportant. Which means that the two young men were, by definition, unimportant. But that meant that the unimportant people could network with each other, because when two decades had passed, they were going to be commiserating about how thus-and-so lost a son, and Wenceslaus was dating again, and who-and-what-is is dating on the down low. In other words, these were the times when stories got started and boiler plated into legend. For example, you would not believe which vice President had a plug. And no one in his right mind would say anything about it. It was just not done until he was dead, then it is a free-for-all to get it published.Washington DC is that kind of town, where as New York City is a City. Nods and pluses for capitalizing the “C”.

He began dryly, which was a marker for he liked to put it in rather than take it – though most of you would not recognize it if you heard it on a busy street out there in Cambridgeland – and begin to enunciate all of the words as my own uncle did. You may presume that my uncle was also in this way.

“So just before my MoC was going out to the islands,” note not the Cape and the Islands, though he went for the relaxation of not having to pretend he was straight while getting some on the side “I wanted to relate something which has two remain secret.” - and not went up from everyone that they would keep this a secret.” he came from a state which had two openly gay men, as opposed to the other side which kept their men “indisposed” - that being the way that their party like things to be, even though we on the inside sniggered at every double entendre. If you were gay and on our side of the ledger, get ready to out yourself, or you would be added and then dropped on your next election. Even if it meant we would lose the seat, that was from the top - “ all right then, here is the deal from the bottom half of the deck. None of these actors are me, by the way, just in case you want to know.”

It was chilly in the late fall morning, though “chilly” was a euphemism, because in the South “chilly” was about 10° warmer than in the north. Inside the Green Room – that television concoction which really was not green at all – the candidate was preparing a brief case for his reelection. Down here there were not many congressional seats up for grabs, and his was not one of them. Even the primary is not contested, if it might be the member of Congress will stay in the seat, and resign after the primary when a group of prominent members of the selection committee will make the choice. Realize that was fine by the constituents, because a contested election was a sign of turbulence. There were rules down here in all you all country that did not apply 100% in the north. Though they tried hard to play the same game with slightly different rules.

In the game by Southern rules, a Member of Congress had a trusted personal assistant. If the assistant was the same sex, then no one would even speculate as to whether anything untoward would happen between. It just was not done. Even if it was obvious. Perhaps particularly so. This member of Congress, though he did not relish having to say so, was born in the north, and lived there up until he was the north side of 30. well actually just a hair less than 40, if the truth be told. But he was running for the district for 10 years before actually living in the district. Again, everything was open, just not written down in any easily available place. Anyway, the member of Congress personal assistant was brushing away any accumulated dirt, and at the same time burbling all of the events that the MoC would have to be acquainted with. And if there fingers entwined to close, well this was the South and no one, overtly, knew anything about it.

Then the personal assistant came to one last item: “Oh and there is a representative from one of the few unions which votes consistently on our side, and they would like to release from his government employment, apparently to run a race. Not that he is going to win that race, but the northern representative on the other side will have to kno' that where breathing down his neck.” before the representative could make a motion, the door opened and some third assistant director told the member of Congress personal assistant that there were only a couple of minutes to go. This was the South, and a “couple of minutes” was the way they talked around here at this time.

“Say again, what is it that I asked?” This of course was the member speaking.

“You need to just sign here and he will be able to run. Not that he is going to get it, and you need to hold his position open, because in a years time, he is going to return.”

“Ah – any conflicts that I need to know about?”

“Just one. He sided against one of your judicial appointees, and block the Senator from appointing him and appointed someone else.”

“Well, get someone on the phone, and will talk about it.”

“ No, I am not gay, but I hold my position to someone who is.  So that is how my member of Congress got his start, because the person on the development a relationship, and needed someone to take his place on the staff. And when he moved up in two the member of Congress, by the wicked fight that would eventually occur, he tapped my friend to fill his own role. In when my friend needed to move up, he came and approached me. What this is a lesson of is you never know where your next opportunity is coming from, because only later do you learn where all the nooks and crannies are later. Oh and by the way, remember that Arthur M. and Jr. are part of the name, I promised I would say that in the same whenever I genuflect his name.”

A Quote from someone who does not quote back

Reem Bassiouney: It's true, now that you mention it, there is little romantic love in new books, but the characters are heavily symbolic and archetypal so the romantic relationships are not really relationships at all, they are more the interactions of individual egos with other egos around them. My characters are all deeply imperfect, which I feel stops the romances they have from feeling "romantic."

Life (TV)

Good for over first three... Have seen more yet.

Dirty Wars

Put the record on.

The record on. P•ut the record on. Put the record on. Put the record on.

Call it old-style, call it new style. Put the record on. Eeeeyaaa• Eeeeeeyaaaa. Put the record on.
We can be me and you, because any one who sees us knows that we're together. But we cannot be together because each of us knows where apart. Put the …. so where do I begin? Because the story has already started, but there is no structure to the narrative. And Miss Lang in seventh grade wanted to start where the narrative was. I guess I have screwed that up again. At least I stopped getting the repetition over by the third paragraph. Well that is start, even if I do not like where it is going.

Everyone has a word, for, the act of fornication. That is mine. You may prefer “fuck”, or “ make love” or something else. Each one sets a course for what happens afterwards, which is the point of the story. Because there are before sex stories, after sex stories, and stories where sex is not part of the equation. Obviously, the word “sex” is someone else's word for it – because if it had been my I would have said “act of fornication” with out even thinking about it. This is after the act, when there is still some sweat on the man's head, but not the woman's, but she has not gone to the bathroom – quite yet. But she is thinking about it, and if you must know, she is the type that after enacting fornication, very soon she wants to go to the bathroom – even if she does not think she is going to need it, because, anyway she has to try. That in this provision moment the man clears his throat and actually wants to say something. Something important, or at least, he thinks it is important. And she being female, wants to listen to him – even if it is not important in the larger scheme of things.

“Why is it that we feel a part, after the act of fornication – when we should be together.”

The woman fights the urge to go to the bathroom, and says “ why should we want to be together, when where only having sex – not making love. I will be right back, I think I need to go to the bathroom.” and she did, and then he knew that it was not important. Because otherwise she would have stayed and talked this important point out. But she went to the bathroom, and that meant it was only marginally important, if at all. He stopped and waited for the flush, because before the flush if there was nothing, then she had not really needed to go. And not moved his point down to the least important of all. The one that says she goes even though she probably does not have to. When the flush happen, it was very faintly preceded by the trickling down, which meant that she had gone.

Put the record on.

Yes Ian, I am bunking off from starting the next section of Marne.

The woman got back to the bed, and her eyes dilated, though he did not know what this was intending. And she was not going to say, because he had asked that question and had not gone any response to it at all.

“So what were we going to talk about?” She said.

“We were talking about how I thought we should be together, and you, obviously, do not feel that way at all.”

“It is true, I have never felt even the remotest “we” sort of thing. Have you, I mean with me, because you have felt it on some occasion, which you have not described to me yet. Or at least I assume that is true.”

“Yes it is.”

“So, tell me about a time which you felt as one with the other person.”

He closed his eyes, and begin to describe an instance where his ex-wife and he had found closure.

Amissed all of the babbling, which she listened to intently, wear as he caught every second word is so of her discourse, he tried to describe that while you knew that the other person was still separated, the sense of closure was extraordinarily small. And what that feeling really felt like. When he had finished, and she nodded, she began a reposte:

“It seems to me that there is nothing there which could not be described in very ordinary terms.”

He thought about it, and try to explain that there was something mystical about the experience – which obviously he did not capture. He was but start again, when she took her finger and touched it to his lips. “You can describe it some other time. It is clear that the pixies of creation have not finished forming the words that I can relate to.”

He, of course, was crestfallen. How could he describe this sensation, when it was obvious that she did not think anything of it? Maybe it was not mystical, or maybe he was not describing it, or maybe the two of them were not supposed to be together. He rolled over on his stomach, and pushed his belly up to look out side the spring air, and smelled the coming of the rain in a place that was almost like Albany, NY, but not quite. It was Michigan, which he pronounced with three syllables, but she needed two. Her voice was decidedly European, but her silhouette was a mixture of half European and half African. He drank in the form, even though she had exited the bed and was doing her hair.

Maybe she was right, why try and layer on top of this sex, something which is mystical for each person. So he put on a record, which was there first bond, collecting vinyl and listening to the bands which made a point out of making vinyl records, often if they did nothing else.

But, put the record on.

Summer Vaction

anyway,  though not quite finished with The Marne  ghost story first act,  it  is going to be summer.  which means I have to start teaching at the local college,  and,  for a large part, not  getting anything done.  which means I should type of a short short tail about politics as it is viewed from two young gentlemen talking about an older gentleman when he was young.  I suppose I will leave this on this blog,  and  be done with it.  it is a tale about the older generation of people giving way to the younger generation.

Greece could exit eurozone and EU, Greek central bank warns for first time - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

The Greeks don't seem to get it,  no one in the EU  wants to rub two  drachma together to keep them in the EU.  What's more, I think  the government of Greece, and is playing it out for the people in Greece who do not.  which means that the people in Greece are collectively stupid.

this is nonsense, but still interesting that someone will pitch it

BBC - Culture - WB Yeats turns 150: The 20th Century’s greatest poet?

WBY  is not the greatest 20th-century poet,   let alone competing with Shakespeare.  but he is still  astonishingly important to his age.  most especially for is one truly great quote.

It seems appalling that not one word is even spoken of about,  or if it is,  how we should pass to deals that we don't know the contents of.   this is the real world,  and one should get used to the fact that there is going to be one government.  and we will have  begin again.
