Darcy Padilla on ‘Facing Change: Documenting America’ - San Francisco Chronicle
In 2013, San Francisco photographer Darcy Padilla received an e-mail from the board of Facing Change Documenting America (FCDA) asking her if she would join their team of 10 renowned photojournalists to document important social issues facing Americans. The goal: raising awareness. Inspired by the work of the Farm Security Administration photographers of the Great Depression, FCDA partnered with the Library of Congress to produce a book of photographs with text written by Leah Bendavid-Val that portrays a nation struggling with poverty, housing, immigration, racism, war, economic disparity and natural disasters.
